KnowYourRightsMN.org is a project of the Legal Rights Center (LRC) in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our mission is to work with our communities to seek justice and promote racial equity for those to whom it has been historically denied. We do this through criminal defense, restorative justice, advocacy, and community education.

The Legal Rights Center’s community legal education centers accessibility and the needs of the communities that we directly serve. We believe that legal knowledge and resources should be known to all, regardless of racial background, level of education, and other barriers. 

Our goal is to equip community members with knowledge of their rights, and to empower our neighbors to take a stand against the injustices of the criminal legal system that have set Black and brown communities back for decades. We hope that this website is helpful in understanding various legal topics and encourage community members to engage in dialogues on how we can advocate for a more equitable and just legal system.
